The World Council of Churches,
the Lutheran World Federation and the National Council of Churches in India
are planning the World Conference on the strategies of carrying out the dalit
liberation movement. The earlier World Conference was on the theology of the
paradigm shift and the proposed second World Conference is on the strategies
for launching action programmes of the dalit liberation movement.
The Dalit Task Force has already met twice in one year and has outlined various
programmes of Theological orientation, production
of literature for the various levels and categories of Church members - including
local congregations - activities that protect legal and human rights of Dalits.
In order to realize these new
visions, programmes and activities and to enable the ministry of Dalit liberation,
we strongly feel, a global network of international Churches, related institutions,
organizations and leaders would be a source of strength for coordination of
action and provide the needed solidarity, fellowship and commitment. The following
Churches and institutions invited join the Global Church Advisory Consultancy
to extend solidarity to the dalit liberation movement of India, headed by
the National Council of Churches in India and National Dalit Task Force.
It was explained to the Global Church Advisory Consultancy members that the
Dalit Task Force would still greatly be strengthened to have this the Global
Church Advisory Consultancy extending its solidarity with the dalit liberation
movement of India. The Dalit Task Force will keep all the members of the the
Global Church Advisory Consultancy informed of all its activities and requests
them to keep this new mission objective of the Church in India in their prayers.
This will provide the Indian Church enormous strength.
